Ghanaian musician Showboy has cautioned the youth to be wary of the dangers of peer pressure and fraudulent activities.

In an interview on Adom FM, he advised young Ghanaians in America to steer clear of illegal activities and instead seize the opportunities the country offers.

“I advise all the Ghanaian youth who got the chance to go to America to not go into fraud and not to follow friends around.

“It’s a land of opportunities, take advantage of them. There are many jobs there, follow the rules and the laws, build your credit,” he said.

He also warned against excessive socializing, stating that too many friendships can be detrimental to one's growth and may invite trouble.

“If you follow friends, you will die early. Don't let the pressures on social media get to you, those posting do not have anything, it's just vibes.

“Focus on yourself, build your skills and things will work out for you,” he advised.

Drawing from his own life, Showboy shared how negative influences cost him valuable opportunities.

Currently facing financial hardships, Showboy has said he remains optimistic and committed to avoiding the mistakes of his past.

He returned to Ghana in November 2023 after serving a six-year sentence for stabbing Junior US, a fellow musician in the United States.

Junior survived the stabbing but was later killed in a robbery attack in 2021 and at the time of his death, many people accused Showboy's 'men' of carrying out the crime.

Meanwhile, Showboy accused the co-founder of AMG music group, Criss Waddle of having set him up.

Upon his return, Showboy has been attempting to get back into the music scene in Ghana with the release of songs including 'GBA' and 'Stubborn'.
