Idris Elba at Mandela’s funeral

British actor Idris Elba is among the dignitaries attending the funeral of the former president, Nelson Mandela, in Qunu, in the Eastern Cape, on Sunday.

Elba played the character of Mandela in the movie, Long Walk to Freedom, recently released about his life.

Funeral programme director, African National Congress deputy president Cyril Ramaphosa, said Elba had been nominated for an award for his portrayal of Mandela in the movie.

Talk-show host Oprah Winfrey and US actor Forest Whitaker are also among the dignitaries.
