I would be disappointed if I was named Charles - Stonebwoy

Multiple award-winning dancehall act and embattled Zylofon Media signee, Livingstone Etse Satekla popularly known as, Stonebwoy Burnitton has disclosed how he would have been disappointed in his parents if they ever named him Charles or John instead of Livingstone.

According to the 2015 BET Award winner in a video sighted on social media, Stonebwoy said he doesn't like the name Charles because in Ghana, everyone know that ‘Charles’ as a nickname for pigs.

Speaking in an interview with Berla Mundi, Stonebwoy gave a detail meaning of his name; He said that his first name, Livingstone, meant a stone or a rock and it was an indication of his dominance in the music industry.

“What does a stone do? A stone is a rock, a rock is strong and you have to be strong, even looking at my name I begin to realize that however ‘mehn’. Maybe if I was called some ‘John’ I would have fallen off by now…or if I was called Charles…I would be acting like something else” He said.

When asked how he would be acting if he was called Charles, Stonebwoy said: “Se Charles dierr se preko”
