I won’t stop performing secular music – Joyce Blessing hits back at critics

Sensational Ghanaian gospel artiste, Joyce Blessing, is not happy with the way people are criticising her for performing songs of secular musicians.

Joyce Blessings, for some time now has been tagged a ‘hypocrite-gospel musician’ following her regular mounting of ‘secular act’ stage to perform.

She was at the S-Concert show last Friday at the Accra Sport Stadium where she pulled out a sterling performance. Joyce Blessing was applauded for performing songs of secular artistes including Lil Win, Nigeria’s Phyno and Koredo Bello.

Her performance at the S-Concert follows another impressive performance she made at ‘Stonebwoy’s Ashaiman to the World Concert’ some months ago.

At that concert, she treated fans to many secular songs and rap which shocked many. With the foregoing, many people have questioned her credibility as an ‘anointed’ gospel singer.

But the ‘Heavy Price’ hit maker would have none of the criticisms. She stated in an interview on Hitz FM that those criticisms don’t bother her at all.

Joyce Blessing added that those condemning her are doing so because they lack knowledge of the music business.

According to her, being versatile is the way she wants to go about her music career. “Being a gospel artiste doesn’t mean you should be one-way.”

“You have to be dynamic and let people hear of you,” Joyce Blessing argues.

She revealed that she is bent on making a name not only in the church but in Ghana as a whole.

Therefore she wouldn’t stop performing secular songs.
