One of Ghana’s young talents in music, Article Wan has in an interview expressed his shocks and surprises at the just ended Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).

The artiste who did wonders last year with his SOLO single which continually topped music charts for weeks has stated in an interview with Flex newspaper that, he was surprised when his song SOLO didn’t win the Afro pop song of the year and most popular song of the year respectively. To him, his song made more impact than EL’s Kaabuame and should have won the Afro pop song of the year.

“On the night, DJ Black was playing popular songs from the 1990’s through to 2000’s and when it got to our current songs, it was my song (SOLO) that he played. If my song wasn’t popular do you think he would have played it? Do an online check and you will realize Solo is not only played within the shores of Ghana but across the globe even in Jamaica,” he said.

“Some of these things only motivate me to push harder; the VGMA comes every year and I know with hard work, I will definitely grab one of those plaques. Sometimes the industry should help the up and coming ones. It’s very important especially looking at where we’re coming from and the efforts we put in our works, some of these things make me go like ‘OH, DIDN’T THEY LIKE WHAT WE DID? I don’t know what the board in particular looks out for when selecting their winners, sincerely speaking I worked so hard under the year of review and even though Fancy Gaddam also did so well, I was louder than him and therefore deserves the BEST NEW ARTIST,” the Solo hit maker had stated.

Article Wan who was nominated for Afro pop song of the year and discovery of the year promised fan’s not to be discouraged as he is yet to give more hits and surprises.
