Award-winning dancehall musician, Stonebwoy, has disclosed that he was still in Senior High School when Kwabena Kwabena’s hit song ‘Aso’ was first released.
Stonebwoy made this known after performing at Kwabena Kwabena’s 20th anniversary concert, which celebrated two decades of the timeless classic.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with GhanaWeb TV's Patience Adu on February 14, 2026, the BHIM Nation president described the Aso at 20 concert as a celebration of excellence and longevity in Ghana’s music industry.
“Aso at 20 is a celebration of excellence. Kwabena Kwabena is one of the finest Ghanaian musicians that we have actually produced. He has inspired a lot of younger artistes and his music will forever live,” he said.

He further praised the highlife Legend for his consistency and dedication to his craft over the years.
“He’s showcasing his talent, greatness and the love he has for Ghanaians. Life as a musician is not easy, so it’s very important for people who can relate to also show love. 20 years of hit songs is crazy,” he shared.
Reflecting on the personal significance of the moment, Stonebwoy noted that Aso was one of his favourite songs during his teenage years.
“I was still in Senior High School 20 years ago and one of my favorite songs is Aso. For me to get the opportunity to be featured on such a song actually brings some significance to the song,” he added.
