I was comfortable acting nude - Ama K. Abebrese

The lead actress in the movie, ‘Sinking Sands’, Ama K. Abebrese could not hide her excitement and enthusiasm for acting nude in certain parts of the movie, and said that she enjoyed acting nude in it.

Speaking during a press review with the media at the Executive Cinema at Gama films, Ama Abebrese said the producer of the movie, Leila Djansi, made acting nude easier than she would have expected. She also attributed the perfect execution of the nude scenes to the lead actor, who was so professional in getting her into acting nude without her knowing she was acting nude scenes. “Jimmy Jean-Louis sometimes gets me into the mood before shooting starts rolling. Making it much easier than I thought, Ama K. Abebrese stressed.

The movie – “Sinking Sands” – prior to its grand premiering on the 13th November, 2010, at the college of Physicians and Surgeons building, will be holding a VIP premiere ahead of its grand premiere.

The movie has received massive ‘thumbs up’ by major movie industry players, for exhibiting the true illustration of domestic violence, as it pertains on the African continent. ‘Sinking Sands’, a US$1.5million budget movie, is one of the most adventurous productions to hit Ghana, as the crew had to built a whole new set (house) in a warehouse, just to fit the 1998 timeline in the movie. On her part, the talented US based Ghanaian movie writer and director, Leila Djansi used the occasion to urge Ghanaian movie producers to take their time and plan well before they produce movies.
