Popular Ghanaian actor John Dumelo has dismissed suggestions that he has been paid by government officials to support the Mahama-led administration.

Dumelo, who is a known NDC sympathizer told Bola Ray on Starr Chat Wednesday that he has always been a member of NDC since former President Rawlings’ administration.

According to him, he supports the NDC out of love and not for money.

“I have not taken one cedi from the party...I would never take money for what I do. I have never taken any money from the government and I would never take money from the government.”

He added that President Mahama has performed creditably in office and must be retained in the upcoming elections.

“He [Mahama] is performing, I travel to other African countries and…when I come to Ghana, despite the challenges there is development.”

He added that President Mahama must be commended for constructing several roads, hospitals, schools and championing other developmental projects.

Dumelo is the first Ghanaian citizen to hit one million likes on Facebook. He is a famous actor and entrepreneur.

He had his secondary education at Achimota School and further studied at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, where he studied Civil Engineering.

He was nominated for categories for Most Promising Actor and Best Actor in a Supporting Role at the 6th and 7th Africa Movie Academy Awards respectively.
