I slept in a kiosk for 6 years and church for 3 years - Great Ampong

Multiple award-winning gospel musician Isaiah Kwadwo Ampong has recounted how sad his past was in an interview with Nelly Adjoa on Kente TV in Belgium.

The gospel musician in the sad revelation said life after his father’s death was not easy for his family including himself. Ampong disclosing some of the sad moments said he worked as a galamsey for about 5 years, slept in a kiosk for 6 years and later relocated to a church auditorium in Accra where he slept on the dais for about 3 years.

“For about 9 years, I had not slept on a mattress. God made me go through a lot before bringing me this far.”

He added that he left Tarkwa in the Western Region to Accra just to sell polythene bags in order to make ends meet.

Speaking on the group ‘The Trinity’ which had Isaac and Cee, he said Cee is now a mother and Isaac is currently in USA so it has slowed down their collaborations. Ampong added that they are still together working on a joint album.

Ampong also talked about how he met Isaac and Cee after Mentor 1 and 2 respectively.
