I prefer listening to secular songs than gospel songs of today – Gospel singer

Veteran gospel artiste Yaw Sarpong has disclosed in an interview that he prefers listening to songs from secular artiste than songs from his colleague's gospel musicians.

According to the gospel musician, the lyrical content from the current crops of secular artistes are better than the gospel songs which only talks about enemies who even don’t exist.

“I have had the opportunity to listen to a lot of secular songs and Gospel songs and I must say that I prefer the secular ones. Although not all the songs are good, the majority are great. There is nothing wrong with singing love songs and I hold nothing against secular musicians singing about love,” he said.

The musician also declared his love for rapper Sarkodie over his choice of songs and hopes of having a collaboration with him soon.

“Sarkodie is one of the musicians I admire so much and the two of us are in talks for collaboration soon,” he disclosed to Graphic Showbiz
