I never said Herty Borngreat stole my award – Cwesi Oteng

Contemporary gospel artiste Cwesi Oteng has come out to debunk news making round in a section of the Ghanaian media that fellow artiste Herty Borngreat had stolen his award.

According to Cwesi who went home without an award at the just ended Vodafone Ghana Music Awards in-spite of 7 nominations, the news was being carried round by some people who only wanted attention and audience.

He took to Facebook to refute the claims he had mentioned anywhere the songstress had stolen his award. The ‘God dey bless me’ hit-maker further added he congratulated Herty for winning the award on the night of the event.

In his post, he said: “Information reaching me is that I have made a statement and said that Herty Borngreat has stolen my award. First of all that statement is not true because such news is propagated by people who have a need for attention and audience. Ghana music awards is not for my parents to go there thinking my name is engrafted on an award. I rather congratulated her the night of her award but as usual good news doesn’t sell.”

Herty Borngreat was in contention with Cwesi Oteng in the Artiste of the Year category where she won. An award many believe was to be won by Cwesi Oteng. This probably was the foundation on which the allegations were formed.
