Gospel musician Nicholas Omane Acheampong has added rapper Okyeame Kwame to the living legends in Ghana.
The Zaphenath Paneah singer made this declaration on Atinka FM Wednesday morning in Accra when Okyeame Kwame had a two hour one-on-one session with Roman Father.
Nicholas Omane Acheampong who called into the show whilst Okyeame Kwame was talking to host of the mid-morning show said he admires the works of the musician who recently released his new single “Small Small”.
Nicholas on phone said it is not easy for a musician to stay relevant in the industry for more than twenty years.
“People cannot define who they are, especially musicians. To be relevant for more than 20 years in the music industry, it is not common in Ghana but I’ve seen that you’ve passed that and with God, you will sing till you grow very old” he told Okyeame Kwame.
Omane Acheampong continued that “it’s not always the case that you can sing better than everybody but being able to define yourself and go by it. With that, you don’t have challengers or competitors. If somebody copies you, the person has worried herself.”
He made it clear that “Okyeame Kwame do not copy others”.
“Many came to sing but we call few of them legends and today, I add you to the legends we have in Ghana. This is because it is not easy for a musician to be relevant for more than a decade in this music industry. A lot come and they die out easily but Okyeame Kwame is still in the industry releasing good music” he added.
Nicholas Omane Acheampong also prophesied that Okyeame Kwame’s latest song “Small Small” will be a hit song in Ghana days to come.
