Ghanaian musician, Adina has revealed how she completely ‘broke down’ in a movie she featured just so she could be ‘real’ in the movie and not have to fake it.

She revealed this when the media was hosted to an exclusive screening of the movie ‘The New Flame’ at the Silverbird Cinemas in Accra on 1st April 2019. She narrated how she had to ‘dig up’ painful memories in her past, including those of people close and dear to her heart to trigger tears and give viewers the actual feel of an emotional scene.

In an interview with Ghanaweb she stated that ‘’I remember that time before I had to cry, the director said they have to lock me in a room so that I get myself in order because he didn’t want me to put robb in my face to try and get the tears come.’’

“I had to think of everything sad, so i was to feel my people’s pain. If I know you and feel you’ve been in something I will put myself in your shoes to cry for you”, she said.

Cast of ‘The New Flame’ include; Adina Thembi, Jasmine Baroudi, Kalybos, Edinam Atachi and many others.

The movie was written, produced and directed by Eric Tabi of Mysterium Pictures in association with New African Movement.
