Budding Ghanaian songstress, Araya Afrika has revealed how she felt when she had the opportunity to work with Sarkodie.

Araya, who couldn’t believe her eyes, said she was nervous when she was informed about Sarkodie’s decision to work with her in a music video.

“I never thought I will be recognized this way. The director [of the video] saw my stuff on Instagram and he got in touch with me. He said he showed my stuff to Sarkodie and he was impressed. He felt adamant to mention the artiste who wants me to be in his music video initially…But he couldn’t hide it forever,” the ‘Ogya’ singer said amidst laughter in a recent interview with Tactikal Shifo on Cheers 100.5 FM in Sunyani which was monitored by www.newshuntermag.com.

“In fact I was nervous so I did not inform anyone about it. Even after the shooting until they saw it themselves,” she disclosed.

The Sunyani indigene who now plies her trade in Accra stressed that the support from outsiders has been great.

“It is overwhelming when I see the support people give me outside B/A because of where I am coming from. Everything is centred at one place [Accra] and people from outside the region do not give much attention to the entertainment in B/A,” she revealed.

When asked about how her musical journey has been, Araya stated: “The music journey has not been easy. Sometimes you will receive a lot of promises but people won’t deliver on their promises. So far, it has been off and on. Along the line, I even felt like giving up.”
