Highly Spiritual Music (HSM) signed artiste, Kurl Songx has stated without mincing words that among his peers he is the best vocalist.

He said this in an exclusive interview with ghanaweb.com when he spoke to their Entertainment team. The budding RNB singer said he felt cheated when he was not nominated in the Best Male Vocalist category at the 2018 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards and even though he respects each and every one who was nominated, he feels he was good enough and should have been nominated the best.

The Twenty-four-year-old music star said though he filed for the Male Vocalist of the year yet the VGMA board didn’t consider his nomination.

According to him, he stands above all those nominated in that category hence his surprise about the omission of his name in that category.

When asked if he felt there was anyone on the list who didn’t deserve to be there, Kurl Songx told Ghanaweb.com that each and every nominee in that category deserved to be there, his only disappointment was that he knew he was better and needed to have been nominated as well.

“You see, in Ghana, everyone in there is a vocalist, the one who won is a great vocalist I respect so much, I look up to him, Samini is also very good, the rest are good. It is very sad, I see people writing on social media, but let me tell you, among the new guys, I am the best vocalist, I am not saying it because it is me, please listen to my songs and you will understand what I am saying, and they know”, he said.

Known in real life as Kelvin Agyekum, Kurl Songx won the popular reality music television show, MTN Hitmaker 5 in 2016, shrugging off tense competition from the likes of F9, Eugene and Sir Tino.

Currently he is promoting his first single in 2018 “Trumpet” which was released a few days ago and is enjoying massive airplay despite the criticisms.
