I am neither broke nor stranded in Ghana – Nigerian actor

Ace Nigerian Actor Hans Anuku, who recently told TV3 that he is not HIV positive as alleged, has also denied reports in Nollywood, that he is stranded in Ghana.

The Actor, who only featured in his last Ghanaian movie by Kumawood, titled “The Black Cobra”, says he is also not broke.

Stories about the Actor’s HIV status had been reported on traditional news websites in Ghana and Nigeria, but he broke his silence in an interview with TV3’s Nana Aba Anamoah on Tuesday describing the report as false.

The stories were that the Actor had admitted infecting his wife with the disease and also deliberately infected about eighty women in Zambia and some in Ghana.

Anuku, who has been residing mostly in Ghana since 2010, dared any woman anywhere who claims to have had a stint with him to provide evidence.

Speaking on a number of issues with Nana Aba Anamoah, the Actor said it wasn’t true that he was stranded in Ghana. He would also not agree with suggestions that he was currently redundant explaining that he was working on several personal projects.

“I am doing some research on grassroots development programme with the youth and also in Ghana on vacation to learn about the diverse culture. How would I be stranded in Ghana? I am just having a good time here. Maybe it’s because they don’t love Ghanaians like the way I do and that’s the reason why they talk.

"In Nigeria I am a King amongst them and they know that I can have a break and go wherever I want and seek peace and seek new horizon and adventure. It’s nobody’s business.

"It’s between me and my God. If you take me the way I am, I will love you the way you are. I don’t have any other thing to do on earth but to be around people especially poor and needy people and to share with them the joy I have and my blessings too because that’s the reason why probably I am alive today. It’s not about any other thing”.

“If most times I hang around, I hang around with the youth and the poor and the needy people. I don’t hang around with the rich people per say because I come from a royal background so I know what it means to be rich; I know what is means to suppress or oppress people so I am working against that. All we need is to love ourselves and find equity, justice and fairness for one another”.

The Actor also denied reports that he was broke to the point that he was indebted to a particular hotel where he had been lodging. He however admitted occasionally staying in hotels but said God was taking care of him.

He could not clearly respond to the interviewer’s question about how he was surviving since he didn’t seem to be doing any active work.

“People can say that or whatever. I am not broke. I have a rich God. I shouldn’t be flaunting my wealth. I am not indebted to any Hotel. I currently live in a little apartment. I don’t owe any hotel or anybody. The person who says I owe him should come forward and tell me. And God also has been helping me in the way I work. I serve the almighty God and he will never forsake me until the end of time. I will hold my peace and God will fight for me Exodus 14:14. I love God and the fight is his. Vengeance belongs to him”.

Sounding much more religious, the Actor said “I am born again, I am a Roman Catholic and also I am a child of God. I am not a saint but God knows I am upright in his presence”.

Answering a question on his dreadlock, the Actor explained that he had to take it off sometime back just because he wanted a change; adding this was not unusual with showbiz personalities.
