“I am happy as long as I remain in the Top 100 Most Influential Celebrities in Ghana”

Multiple award winning artiste, songwriter and entrepreneur; Okyeame Kwame has indicated that as long as his name exists among the top 100 Ghanaian influential celebrities, he is happy despite the fact that he dropped from the 58th position (2014 list) to 99th position this year.

“I just think that once Ghana is 24 million people and they are looking for top 100 Ghanaians and I'm a part of it, all the judges, lawyers, speakers of parliament, ministers and me, a common musician as long as I stay in the hundreds, I'm happy,” he said.

According to him, he seeks to impact positively on society using his music; “I believe that this is my calling and that is to use what I have to affect the society positively, so am on my path and I can’t sleep until I have done it.”

On what inspired his decision to include impacting positively on the society aside just entertaining; the ‘Rap Doctor’ said, “Its consciousness; realizing that my life is not for me and I have been empowered to have the type of personality that can encourage and inspire people.”

He said this on the night of the disorganized ‘Amplified’ edition of Ghana DJs Awards 2015, held at the foyer of the Accra International Conference Centre.

Okyeame Kwame has from 2009 administered free Hepatitis B screening which is aimed at educating, counselling and creating awareness to help eradicate the disease from Ghana using entertainment.

He is constructing a Hepatitis B Centre at Tamale.
