Popular hip-life musician Sidney Ofori better known in the music circles as Barima Sidney has in an interview outlined his reasons for his silence in the music industry all this while.

Barima Sidney in an interview with www.flexgh.com has explained that, he is currently involved in helping Liberia’s presidential candidate George Oppong Weah to campaign in the ongoing presidential elections in Liberia.

The Scent No and Apuskeleke hit maker who has been missing from the music scenes for years now though he has one single yet to be released admitted being one of the strong campaigners for presidential hopeful George Oppong Weah who has been his god-father all this while and believes he will win this year.

“I am seriously involved in helping my brother George Weah campaign as he stands for the presidential elections in Liberia. I was willing to release a single this November but it’s been delayed due to the video editing aspect of it. I know it’s been a while since I last came out as a musician but the truth is, no matter what I do, I have still been out for a long time and I will have to take my time in making sure what I bring out is good, solid and relevant and not just to pass through. You sometimes might be willing to come out but looking at the scenario or season, you just have to relax and study the system and calculate before bringing out your product”

When asked whether he aspires to venture into politics since he has a political personality as a god-father, he had this to say.

“No, I have no political ambition especially here in Ghana though one cannot predict the future. The reason why I am throwing my weight behind George is, he has been my god-father all these while and we have been trying since 2004 in making sure he wins the presidential seat in Liberia of which we weren’t successful. But this time around, we got it by leading the first round and we’re hopeful the second round would as well be a successful one. I am supporting Weah with so many things of which I can’t disclose. Some of them here, but the first thing is my music. This because I am the one who does most of his campaign songs and connect him to other musicians as well” he concluded.

The artiste again promised his core fans to expect his latest single titled Biegya Na Da which will be followed by an album next year.
