Reliable information has revealed that, host of TV3’s ‘Spotlight’ entertainment magazine, Prime Eye, born Mutala Muntari, would bounce back on the show on Friday September 16, 2011, after a short hiatus.
In his absence, Iso Paley, who is reportedly the producer of the show, stood in for him. However, the reason for Mutala’s hiatus still remains a mystery.
Sources said Mutala was quitting as a result of a supposed power struggle between him and producer Iso Paley. Mutala however told NEWS-ONE yesterday that he did not quit as a host of ‘Spotlight’.
According to him, he was on leave for a while to refresh himself. “I was fatigued and my doctor asked me to rest for some time. I did not quit,” he added when contacted via phone yesterday.
Over the years, Mutala has been the host of the show which highlights events, album releases, newspaper reviews and entertainment happenings across Ghana.
He makes the show exciting by finding out from guests their opinion on topical issues in Ghana’s music and movie industries.
He had in the past interviewed a lot of entertainment personalities in Ghana’s showbiz industry and beyond. His regular panelists included Lawrencia Thompson, Amanda Jisseh and others.
