Hunter Mistakes 70 Year Old Man For Monkey

The Agona Swedru Police has arrested a 22 year-old hunter for allegedly murdering Opanyin Kobina Baiden at Gomoa Manso, in the Central region during a hunting expedition.

The Assistant Superintendent of Police in charge of Agona District, Mr. Alex Adae told the Ghana News Agency that Kwesi Kyere, said he mistook the 70 year-old man for a monkey and shot him dead in the bush. Opanyin Baiden, who was a carver, had gone to the bush on July 13 to look for materials for his trade but in the process Kyere shot him.

Some farmers found his body the next day and reported to the Police. Kyere surrendered himself to the opinion leaders in the town and said he mistakenly shot the old man.
