Various celebrities and high-profile individuals have been reacting to news of the tragic deaths of some individuals at the military recruitment exercise in Accra. This isn’t a concert. These are applicants queuing up for screening and documentation process at the Ghana Armed Forces recruitment where 6 persons have lost their lives in a stampede that broke out. NO ONE deserves to die seeking employment or simply trying to serve their own nation? Sad sad sad. No one deserves to die in their quest to find a job. No one! Sad! John Ntim Fordjour has extended his condolences and prayers to the families of the prospective recruits who tragically lost their lives in a stampede during the Ghana Armed Forces screening process. Do all these people really want to be in the military or it’s a way out ? Do Imagine your child, or relative telling you they’re going to hustle to find a spot in the army and you’re called to come identify their body because they died! These deaths were unnecessary and could have been prevented.
According to a statement released by the Ghana Armed Forces, the incident occurred in the early hours of November 12, 2025, at the El Wak Sports Stadium when applicants rushed for the gates at the start of the recruitment.
The rush led to a stampede leading to 28 casualties, with 6 dead, 12 in critical condition, and 5 injured.
On various social media platforms, Ghanaian celebrities, including Serwaa Amihere, Efya, Rev Erskine and many others, have reacted to the news. Many expressed their shock over the incident, while others called for a different approach to the recruitment process.
