On September 17, 2025, the Government of Ghana announced that five distinguished personalities in the creative and cultural space has been issued diplomatic passports.
The recipients; travel vlogger and YouTuber Wode Maya, entrepreneur and media personality Akosua Dentaa Amoateng, multiple Grammy-nominated reggae artiste Rocky Dawuni, broadcaster Anita Erskine, and artist Ibrahim Mahama, have also been named ambassadors for the upcoming 2025 Diaspora Summit, scheduled for December 19 and 20 in Accra.

Wode Maya took to social media to share his reaction, describing the experience as surreal.
“We’ve been on this incredible journey showcasing Ghana and the African continent to the world, and never in my wildest dreams did I think a proud village boy like me would be holding a Diplomatic Passport. I’m truly humbled and deeply grateful to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ghana,” he wrote.
