Class, examination, vacation are the immediate things that lurks in the thoughts of senior high school students. Sound so boring right? Students spend maximum of their time in high school looking forward to good grades and unknowingly shut themselves in boredom. Fountain House Ghana, event organizers, comes to their rescue with awards scheme that pays a little more attention to extra-curricular activities. The awards programmed dubbed “High School Honors”, rewards students who excel in various fields in school for their efforts.
The award seeks to break the monotonous lifestyle by way of bringing something more vibrant and catchy. Some of the areas dance, music, popularity, sports among others. The nominees for High School Honors are to be drawn from over 500 throughout the nation. Also, the selection committee is free and fair and this is to be done by a learned electoral college and the general public. The final event is to be held at the National Theatre in August. The award which is the first of its kind seeks to draw an unprecedented audience from all walks of life, mostly SHS leavers since they’re eligible for the awards. The award comes in the form of crystal plagues.
Moreover, there’re a lot of activities preceding the final event. Some of the activities include nominees launch, awards school tour, awards pre-party, and radio and TV interviews among other. High School Honors is going to be a night of music, comedy, and dance and it’s expected to have some of the big artistes on the bill. Speaking to an official of Fountain House Ghana, he added “this award program is classy and everyone should look forward to this because nothing of this kind has been done for high schools students before”. Some of the categories are ; most popular student (male & female), Best music group of the year, Most disciplined gentleman of the year, Most disciplined lady of the year, best sports school of the year, and Sports person of the year. The rest are Best male vocalist, Best female vocalist, Best male dancer, Best female dancer, Best male rapper, Best female rapper, most fashionable ( male & female) most fashionable (male & female), best entertainment prefect(male & female), best dance group of the year, Best school alliance and the School of the Year.
