Hezekiah Walker's Adom Praise postponement unfair

Kwesi Ernest Kwesi Ernest

Renowned artiste manager, Kwesi Ernest has expressed utmost displeasure about the postponement of this year’s Adom praise festival.

The festival which was slated for Saturday 12th September was put on ice because the headline artiste Hezekiah walker had been hospitalized, something Kwesi Ernest deemed unfair.

He was speaking on Sunny FM’s Christian Entertainment review program hosted by Alfred Ocansey.

In defense, the lead organizer of the show, Charles Narh stated that the postponement was needed, in order to deliver to their patrons their promise of bringing an international act to the event.

“Our commitment to our patrons is that we promised them an experience and we wanted to deliver on that. Unfortunately, as one key part of that experience was not available, we thought it wise to come up with another timeline to allow them to experience what we promised them”, he explained.

Charles’s explanation, however, did not go down well with Kwesi Ernest, who contended that the organizers were bent on not giving a level playing field to the local artistes.,

Adding that with the likes of Selina Boateng, KODA and Joe Mettle, there is no way he would give in to the argument that “because of Hezekiah Walker who is sick, Adom praise should be stopped upon all the media hype”.

He further questioned whether the local artistes will also be granted the same privilege, should they also be indisposed.

Although Charles noted that in the near future, the format of headlining international artistes was bound to change, the vociferous Kwesi Ernest, maintained that, the right time to effect that change was now, because regardless of the circumstance he believes the Ghanaian artistes can live up to expectation on any stage at any particular time.

“We should have just gone ahead with the show and reconsider Hezekiah Walker for next year. I believe Ghanaian artistes can headline Adom Praise to the fullest”, he argued.

As it stands, no date has been set for the show but patrons have been advised to keep their fingers crossed.
