Popular Ghanaian journalist and media personality, Nana Aba Anamoah, has opened up about one of the most humiliating moments in the early days of her career, revealing that she was fired on her first day at a television station after being described as “ugly” by the managing director.
The media personality made the revelation during a podcast conversation with Kobby Mensah, who is the boss of Lynx Entertainment, in a video that has since gone viral online.
According to Nana Aba, a call to the manager's office ended her employment after she had finished her first TV session.

She added that the MD told her she was “ugly” and should not return, effectively ending her employment the same day.
"I went on TV for the first time at Metro TV, and my god, it was a disaster. It was suicidal. It was a disaster because my makeup was shambolic, my hair was disheveled, I had no idea what I was doing because it was live, and it was my first time, and there was no guide.
"I remember after I was finished, we were called to the MD's office; he was a Lebanese man, and he was angry that we had desecrated his channel, and he said don't come back again, this is your last time.' Then he pointed at me because of what went on, on TV that day, and he said you're so ugly. He said I was so ugly that he didn't want me on his TV again," Nana Aba recounted the unpleasant incident.
The shocking disclosure has sparked conversations on social media, with many expressing disbelief at the treatment she endured at the start of what would later become a highly impactful career.
