Harvest Praise 2018 to set the hearts of Christians ablaze

All is set of the Harvest Praise, the annual gospel music concert organized by Harvest International Ministries (HIM) which this year is set to parade the biggest gospel stars ever to hit one stage in Ghana to set the hearts of Christians ablaze for Christ.

Harvest Praise 2018 – the Good Friday edition tagged as the mother of all gospel concerts would be unveiled at the new plush 15,000-seater Fantasy Dome at the Trade Fair Accra.

This year’s concert dubbed Bigger, Better and Greater version also celebrates two decades of Harvest Praise pioneering and leading musical evangelism in Ghana and Africa.

Rev Fitzgerald Odonkor, General Overseer of the HIM, at a press conference to introduce some of the foreign and local gospel stars who would be performing at the show, announced that all the artistes for the concert have arrived in Accra.

The artistes include American gospel music sensation, Anthony Brown and the Group Therapy with their strong youth appeal, Victoria Orenze, the worship dynamite from Nigeria and Rev Edwin Dadson from Ghana.

Other gospel musicians on the bill include Yaw Sarpong, KODA and the evergreen Harvest Gospel Choir.

Rev Odonkor also stated that Harvest Praise is an opportunity for Christians to focus on the real meaning of Easter and to evangelize the gospel of Jesus Christ to people.

He said the occasion provides the chance to talk about Jesus Christ on the Cross of Calvary, and what it meant for the world.

He said Harvest Praise 2018 is a platform to lift the name of Jesus Christ and to connect families during this Easter holidays.

He praised God who had kept the vision and the ministry of Harvest Praise for the past 20 years.

Mr Daniel Adjei, former Chairman of the Planning Committee for Harvest Praise, gave a brief history about the gospel concert, which started with the leadership of the Harvest Ministries.

He explained that during Easter period when people celebrated their holiday amidst merrymaking, the Church felt that the knowledge of Christ was missing in all these celebrations.

He said the Harvest Praise was, therefore instituted to help Christians praise God for the death of Christ and his resurrection.

Mr Adjei also explained that this year’s concert was moved to the 15,000 capacity Fantasy Dome at the Trade Fair Centre because over years patronage for the programme has been growing.

He said it was therefore welcome news for Church to secure the spacious Fantasy Dome for this year’s Harvest Praise, which marks the 20th anniversary of the gospel concert in Ghana.
