Harvest Praise 2006 fixed for Easter Sunday

Accra, April 2, GNA - The 8th Harvest Praise Easter Gospel musical festival under the theme, "The Music Ministry - A Tool for Soul Winning" organised by The Harvest International Ministries (HIM) will be held on Resurrection Sunday April 16th

The concert dubbed "Harvest Praise 2006," would be characterised with the performance of soul inspiring Gospel Music by the Harvest Gospel Choir and guest artistes, who would interplay their singing with charismatic chorographic performances. Mr Frank Asante, Chairman of the Planning Committee, announced the date at a Harvest Chapel International Special Church Service to outline the programme.

The guest artistes would include the 2005 Gospel Award winner, Noble Nketia, the Evergreen Danny Nettey, described by Gospel Music lovers as "a man full of the Holy Spirit's power and passion for Gospel music" and the new sensation Women of Worship. Others are the Age to Age as well as the multi-instrumentalist "Sir Borax" Mr. Kojo Folson, who is expected to display his mastery of various instruments.

The performers would be under the baton of Mr Yaw Antwi-Dadzie, a renowned Charismatic Worship Leader. Mr Asante said Harvest Praise 2006 would put to test the dexterity of the members of the choir and their ability to adopt to the changing Gospel musical trend.

He said the choir would blend popular local and international music with unknown but infectious Gospel songs to entertain those who would fill the Accra International Conference Centre venue for the show. Mr. Asante said the concept of the show - use of gospel music as vehicle for reaching out to souls - would be maintained to offer gospel musicians an opportunity to fulfil the Great Commission. He said the choir had explored new direction in gospel music performance, advanced its show to another level with its own unique identity and contemporary gospel music.

Harvest Praise 2006 is expected to attract gospel music lovers, cross section of Ghanaian populace, the Diplomatic Corp, the academia, Chiefs and Christian faithful.

Mr. Asante who is also a deacon at Harvest Chapel said the essence of the show was to offer both Christians and non-Christians an opportunity to reflect on the spiritual ramifications of Christ's death, burial and resurrection.

"By the time it is over, you should have known that you have been in His presence. Nothing should suffice than being in His presence and relating with Him," Mr Folson said Harvest Praise 2006 would use various musical instruments - the melody of the bass line or guitar riff, harmonious voices of the choristers, serenity of the keyboard tone and the power of the words to reach out to souls. 02 April 06
