Goodies Hits Back At Mzbel

GoodiesIsaac Aidoo a.k.a Goodies, has made a firm rebuttal of allegations by Mzbel in a story posted on showghana last week, and have accused the singer of breach of management contract. Goodies said it is not true he only met Mzbel once after the armed robbery incident; rather he was a regular face at the Erata Hotel where he kept her immediately after the incident.

In fact he was in Mzbel?s house less than three weeks ago during her rehearsal session and even met Castro, the renowned hiplife artist.

Asked how many times he has met her since the unfortunate incident, he said, ? Many times, I?ll say more than ten times. But if I don?t see her, how did I take Hon. Ama Benyiua-Doe to that place, how did I take Alhaji Sidiku Buari there?

I?ve been driving her to the hospital. I was doing it as a favour because what happened to her, I feel it, and it wasn?t on entertainment basis that this thing happened to her, it?s our private lives but you are my artist and I must show concern.?

Goodies added he?s been sick since his return from Nigeria and all his records can be checked at the Trust hospital in Osu, Accra. On the five million cedi loan Mzbel alleged he refused to give, he said, ? If you need a loan, you don?t just text me. It was a text message; I have it on my phone right now. Even though I?m your manager, I run business with my people, you have to submit and even let me know why you need that money. She told me her car has a problem and I said do you need money to buy engine? And she said somebody promised her some money so she doesn?t need it. So what else should I do??

The management contract between Mzbel and Goodies states that the artist is entitled to a loan of ten million cedis each year and the loan needs to be refunded before a new one would be contracted. Besides, the contract states that Goodies shall make travel arrangements on behalf of the artist within and outside Ghana, a clause that he claims she breached. He said she went to Nigeria without his notice and rather told him she was in Somanya for a family business.

Furthermore, her acting in several Ghanaian movies was without his approval and authorization. The management contract states that the manager shall approve and authorize the use of artist?s name, photographs likeness, voice, sound effects, caricature and literary, artistic and musical materials for the purpose of advertising any or all products and services, subject to the artist?s previous consent.

Sources say the issue is currently before the president of the musicians union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Alhaji Sidiku Buari, and a meeting between the two parties to find an amicable settlement will soon take place. However, Goodies has threatened legal action if negotiations at the MUSIGA level fail.
