Goldstar Vision pulls the biggest crowd in Notting Hill (London)

Goldstar vision, as a Ghanaian carnival entertainment force is well dedicated to bringing to the world more than one can handle. The last August bank holiday in the United Kingdom has come to pass in its carnival glory, despite the weather condition that tampered with celebrations.

Even though it was forecasted that ,it will be wet windy and rainy, carnival revellers could not be bothered, but rather came in their numbers to have some fun in the biggest European street party.

The Gold-star vision float was there to represent Ghana and Africa at large. Due to this, the float attracted and gathered a massive following. The cultural troupes who were paraded right behind the float exhibited some of the African traditions

through native dancing and magical acrobatic display. Given the collection of African and world music that was being pumped out, the spectators could not resist but to join in the dance. The float boasts of seasoned and reputable disc jockeys who know what, how and when to play each and every music.

Dj Edu of BBC 1Xtra was on board with his special mixes which is dubbed ‘THE DNA MIX’. He played songs ranging from afro, pop to dancehall. The PM from Rainbow radio did not take matters lightly when he banged in songs from yester years to present day hip-hop. He made the crowd felt as if there was no tomorrow.

Dj Neptizzle brought his Midas touch to bare and showed the revellers why he is known in some quarters as ‘The honorary Afro-beat ambassador.

While these International disc jockeys were taking their turns to serenade their various fans with sweet music, you can only hear one baritone voice on top of the float, and that is MC Clarke pentoa.

Clarke Pentoa being the master of ceremonies hosting the float lifted the crowd from one level of happiness to dizzying heights of enjoyment.

Having ‘smashed’ the bank holiday in club LA Face on Saturday, the Gold-coast on Sunday, Samini-the ‘African Dancehall king’ could not resist the urge to perform live aboard the float. Her highness Empress Mavis Tetteh was also on board to grace the float with all her beauty and elegance.

Emmanuels Groceries and Kumasi Market made sure revellers were given free compact discs full of Afro-songs, while Blow-Fish media took coverage of the best scenes from the carnival.

All things being equal, the ‘Notting Hill Umbrella Carnival’ was decent and successful despite the ‘showers of blessings’.
