According to the Event Coordinator for RTP awards, this postponement is due to the new company which just came on board to be the headline sponsor of the award, coupled with the fact that the event will be graced by ace musician Kodjo Antwi who is the headline artiste, and sultry songstress Efya, No Tribe, “Swagger boys” Ruff N Smooth”, Dancehall new act Stonebowy and others

The organizers also disclosed that the statutes for this year’s award were manufactured by the same company that produces for the Oscars. Saturday’s event which will be the second edition is expected to bring the cream de la cream of Radio and Television personalities from all over the country. The much anticipated award ceremony will also bring various celebrities i.e. Soccer Stars, Movie stars, top notch Musicians, Politicians and anybody who works in the media or is associated in the electronic media.

The organizers have also announced that voting for the various categories will be closed on Friday October 12, 2012 after which the event statistician will collate all the results and present it officially on stage on the awards night.

The Globa RTP Awards is aimed at recognizing and rewarding seasoned Radio and TV personalities who have over the years contributed immensely towards the development of the industry in Ghana, and have also endeared themselves to listeners and viewers.

Instituted last year, the Globa RTP Awards is undoubtedly Ghana’s leading reward system for radio and television professionals. Last year’s edition saw some of the industry’s best heads awarded for their works under the year in review.

This year’s event is being held under the theme: “Media for Peace for Election 2012”. It is powered by Big Events Ghana with Globa as headline sponsors.

The big question now is can Chairman General Kwami Sefa Kayi who won the ultimate award last year retain his title or who can take the title away from the heavy weight “Kokrokoo” host?
