Ghanaians only appreciate ‘One Corner’ kind of songs – eShun

Ghanaian songstress eShun has disclosed the acceptance of Patapaa’s ‘One Corner’ is a clear indication that Ghanaians taste for music is on the decline.

According to eShun, Ghanaians hailing and accepting Patapaa’s kind of songs is killing real talents in the music industry. Therefore, it makes it difficult for talented young artists with a different style of music to penetrate and survive the music industry.

“Ghanaians are used to one style of music, the Patapaa and kind of songs are what Ghanaians are yearning to listen. This kills talents of musicians who want to try new styles” she received in an interview with Zylofon FM.

eShun proceeded by saying that most artistes in the industry have been forced one way or the other to follow the trend as that is what Ghanaians love to listen to.

“People who divert from it are left on their own, therefore, they are forced one way or the other to stay in it” she added.

To her, for an artiste to survive in the Ghana music industry, one must learn to do what the masses want, and later do his/her own style when accepted.

“However, I believe if one follows the trend for a while to make their name, they can chip in their main style. Efya did it and it worked out for her”.

As a reminder, eShun was the first Runner up in the Glo X-Factor, participated in Project Fame –West Africa in 2011 and TV3 Mentor reality show.
