Tonga hitmaker Joey B has disclosed via Facebook, a story of how veteran producer Da’ Hammer prophesied of his current musical exploits some five years ago. According to him, he wondered the source of Da’Hammer’s source of confidence as he testified of him to Obrafour, but is grateful to have made him (Da’ Hammer) proud over the years.
Revered for his knack for recognising genius before everyone else, Da’ Hammer (Born Edward Nana Poku Osei), Da Hammer has also been influential in nurturing the music careers of such significant Ghanaian rappers as Obrafour, Kwaw Kesse, Edem, Tee Phlow, Sarkodie, among others.
In a related development, the Last Two Music Group CEO and engineer for Obrafour’s landmark Pae Mu Ka album took to social media to speak on Joey’s upcoming album which he listened to while riding with him in the latter’s car. “They ain't ready man”, he remarked after listening to the work.
Formerly signed to D Black’s Black Avenue Muzik, Joey B’s 89 album is also scheduled for release under his new imprint World Records. Previous singles from this project have chalked significant success, prominent among them being You x I. Most of 89 was reportedly recorded in China, and is homage to the year of his birth.
