Ghanaians need Nana Akufo-Addo as a leader - Ace Broadcaster

Blakofe Blakofe

Ace broadcaster, Akua Djanie, known in showbiz circles as Blakofe, has observed that Ghanaians are in dire need of a leader in the person of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party, who can help restore hope back into them.

According to Blakofe, Ghanaians are ready for a change and want to see a leader who is selfless and visionary enough to propel the country into greater heights.

Blakofe, in an exclusive interview said Ghanaians are hungry for a real leader, something that has eluded the country in the last eight years. banner

The ace Broadcaster, known for hit TV shows like ‘GoldBlast,’ “Smash TV”, and has a book titled, “Reflections of an ordinary African Woman. Vol. 1” to her credit, has formed a group known as Street Hustlers and Fans of Blakofe for Nana Addo, which basically appeals to the suffering masses on the streets to vote for the NPP in order to get better lives.

She said “looking at Ghana over the last four to five years, I can simply say the country is in a mess. There is hardship everywhere. Ghanaians are losing their sense of humanity.”

Describing the country as an “asylum”, she said the hopelessness among those on the streets is very alarming and thought she could use her name and voice to convince these people to vote for Nana Akufo-Addo and the NPP.

“I formed the group Street Hustlers and Fans of Blakofe for Nana-Addo because of the respect I have for these people on the street who go through a lot to make ends meet due to the bad governance from the Mahama-led NDC administration. I decided to join Nana Addo’s campaign because I feel he’s got what we are a looking for. I still believe Ghana can work again under Nana Akufo-Addo,” she said.

She continued, “looking at Nana Addo’s ‘One-District-One-Factory’ policy, it is a laudable policy. I believe would go a long way to help these people on the streets who are willing to work. For how long can they be on the street? I tell them to vote for Nana Addo and that they would get a better life outside Accra when jobs are created in their various districts.

Ghana is not all about Accra. Why leave the other districts and come to Accra to hustle and sell dog chains? Due to my relationship with them, I felt I was the right person to talk to them and assure them of better lives under an Akufo-Addo presidency come 2017.”

Blakofe asked Ghanaians to reject the NDC by voting massively against them in the December 7 elections, as well as reject any monetary offers from members of the NDC.

“Ghanaians should look around them and ask if they are okay with their present conditions. If not they should give Nana Akufo-Addo the chance to come to power. We have tried the Mahama government and we know how poor they have been.

Don’t go about collecting GHC20 and GHC50 from the NDC because if they really cared for you, they would have done something for you in the last four to eight years, and not wait with some few months to the elections before they start giving you GHC20 for votes,” she stated.

The group, after having a successful campaign exercises in Tema and Ashaiman, would tomorrow, Thursday, October 26, 2016 hit Kasoa and its environs to sell the policies and programme of the NPP to the Ghanaians.
