Omar Sterling of R2Bees fame has lamented how difficult it is for someone to succeed in the Ghanaian music industry.
He emphasized that the music industry in the country is like the Champions League—and one needs luck to be successful.
“The industry is tough for everyone especially the upcoming artist,”
Omar Sterling said in an interview with Joy FM.
“I was telling Darko Vibes about artists that have been in the industry from when we started and they still don't have a hit song and they are still trying.
“I told Killbeatz the music industry is like the Champions League because you need luck…because you can be good but you need that little bit of luck,” he stressed.
Omar Sterling added: “It’s really challenging especially in Ghana when there is no industry where in Europe where you don’t even need to do shows because of Royalties and streaming but Ghana we don’t have the structure where you earn royalties but we are blessed and lucky because our streaming numbers are crazy that’s why people hardly hear from us. We don’t need to do shows to survive.”
Currently, R2Bees are promoting their album titled ‘Site 15’.
