Ghanaian movies that need to be banned

It is all well if it plays out well but in this scenario, nothing seems to play out well. The influx of useless and unnecessary obscenity scenes in our movies should be dealt with rapt aggressiveness.

It becomes a sore to the heart when I see people argue out that Hollywood movies have more sexual scenes and yet they are been appraised.

The people who perpetuate this argument are clearly ignorant or insanely stupid. Hollywood movies have very good story lines and hence the sex scenes play very well into the story. When a Hollywood director introduces a sex scene it is a necessity, so much so that the absence of that scene would demean the potency of the storyline.

Come back to Ghana, no red alarms were raised about the sex scene in Shirley Frimpong Manso’s Perfect Picture. Now let us look at a movie like Love and Sex, Heart of Men and quite recently the likes of Big Girls, Hot Fork and all the other useless titles they come with. These movies lack every basic thing a movie should have.

There is abysmal acting, unfocused camera angles, no story line, nothing, all they have are the senseless sex scenes which are greatly affecting the youth.

As a young writer, I think it is high time that something be done about this ordeal, the earlier the better. No one is castigating sex scenes in movies all we are saying is they should be done with circumspection.
