The debate as to whether the Ghanaian movie industry is dead or still alive is one that cannot be concluded anytime soon.

Noticeably, Ghana’s movie industry has been fast declining over the years due to many reasons including the lack of investment, interest from the audience, just to mention but a few.

Ghanaian actors have since as a result, diversified their skills in other fields in order to stay relevant and to feed their families.

With some turning into ‘globetrotters’ transacting strange businesses, others own private businesses, and some are now TV hosts, cooks and so on.

www.ghanaweb.com has identified a section of Ghanaian actors who have ventured into other businesses aside acting including those rambling on social media without any identifiable jobs.

Majid Micheal



Ghanaians were stunned to see pictures of the actor on social media, ministering under the unction of the Holy Spirit.

Majid Michel has since been spotted at several churches ministering to the congregation though some believe that if the Ghanaian movie industry was still vibrant, Majid would have never been an evangelist.

Emelia Brobbey



The actress currently has found interest in hosting her own TV Show dubbed “Okukuseku TV Show” which airs on Adom TV.

Nana Ama McBrown



Popular and celebrated Ghanaian actress, Nana Ama Mcbrown has been absent in the movie industry for a while. Nana Ama seems to have found solace in her new Cooking Show, Mcbrown’s Kitchen which has been successful.

She recently became the host of the ‘United Showbiz’ on UTV.

Akrobeto



Akwasi Boadi known widely as Akrobeto has actively been on the screens of UTV lately with ‘The Real News’. Many seem to have fully accepted his new profession as a result of its comic content.

To most viewers, his show serves as a stress reliever as on Fridays, most people want to get home in time to watch ‘The Real news with Akrobeto’.

Vivian Jill Lawrence



She was known for acting but now runs a food business.

The Kumawood actress who gathered a next point of interest currently owns “Jills Aroma,” a new food court in Kumasi.

Yvonne Okoro



Ghanaian actress Yvonne Okoro currently hosts ‘Dining with Cooks and Braggarts’ on GHOne where she invites influential personalities to exhibit their cooking skills while sharing their life stories.

Actress Gloria Osei Sarfo, now runs a boutique and salon shop. The popular “Efiewura” actress prior to this development, left TV3’s Music Music to host Angel TV’s Madhubala telenovela chatroom.

The popular comic actor now actively composes, records and shoots music videos.

He is also a proud proprietor of Great Minds International School, an Ultramodern School located In Kumasi.

Jackie Appiah has been one of Ghana’s successful actresses of all time.

Though not clear what her current line of business is, since the decline of Ghana movie industry, the actress has been spotted many times on her social media pages, flying business class from one country to the other.
