Ghanaian Actress Lydia Forson Makes Front Page in Sierra Leone

Popular Ghanaian actress Lydia Forson’s arrival in Sierra Leone early this week attracted attention in the West African country.

The actress was in the country for a movie project that is featuring selected movie stars from the African continent.

Reports said the bubbly actress’ arrival made the pages of some newspapers.

The country’s Exclusive newspaper used its front page to celebrate the Ghanaian actress with a cover-page captioned, ‘Ghanaian Actress in Town’.

It is Lydia’s first time in Sierra Leone and there is no doubt that she is enjoying her stay. Sierra Leone is described as one of Africa’s developing countries with a unique tourism attraction.

According wikipedia.com, it is officially called the Republic of Sierra Leone. It is bordered by Guinea to the northeast, Liberia to the southeast, and the Atlantic Ocean to the southwest. Sierra Leone is a constitutional representative democratic republic and covers a total area of 71,740 km2 (27,699 sq mi).

The country is divided into four geographical regions: the Northern Province, Eastern Province Southern Province and the Western Area; which are subdivided into 14 districts. The country has some good tourism sites but not much is heard about its movie industry.

Some media reports from the country say frantic measures are being put in place to make its movie industry shine in Africa and beyond and also bring some improvement to the country’s economy.

Lydia Forson left Ghana for Sierra Leone on Sunday and would be spending weeks on the set.
