Media personality and Actor, Seth Kofi Karikari popularly known as Koo Fori has observed that the churning out substandard movies are the reasons why most Ghanaians are drifting from patronizing the local movies.

He disclosed that people are into the telenovelas and other foreign movies because the players in the hitherto vibrant local movie production are not prepared to factor the interest of the consumers into their productions.

“In recent times there are a lot of television shows which is affecting the local movie industry. Kumawood were complaining about the proliferation of the Soap Operas. If you go into various homes people watch movies on DSTV. Another fact is that the producers do not also give what we want to watch”, he revealed in an interview MyNewsGh.com.

Koo Fori revealed that he quit acting because producers take him for granted and do not pay for his services.

According to him, whereas they will come to you looking all sad and begging you to shoot their movies for them with the promise of giving you your pay at the end of the day, they will act as if you don’t even exist when it is time for them to pay you.

“Upon a second thought, I quit acting because most of the producers were taking me for a fool and using my services without paying the amount due me”, he revealed to Zionfelix.
