Players in the film industry of late have been hitting hard on the lapses in the industry so as to give it a good shape to be able to compete with the outside world.

Adding to the voices in the news is Ghanaian award-winning movie director cum producer, Jackson K Bentum who says the film industry in Ghana lacks casting directors, hence part of the woes in the industry.

According to Mr. Bentum in an interview with Nkosuohene, he said the absence of casting directors is a major reason for the mismatches in some movies.

"In Ghana's film industry, we lack casting directors. The casting director will look through the script to determine who fits for a particular role before you call them on set. So if we want the industry to move on well, we should start thinking of casting directors. Sometimes we cast someone as a father and looking at the father and the son, you can see that they are of no match. At least there should be age difference."

Jackson K Bentum is one of the greatest film directors and producers in Ghana. He was crowned as the best director(comedy) in the year 2012 in the Kumawood Awards.
