Known in private life as Theophilus Tagoe, Castro was born on May 1, 1982, and rose to become one of Ghana’s most vibrant and consistent hitmakers before his sudden and mysterious disappearance on July 6, 2014.

Castro’s story blends talent, charisma, and an enduring legacy. Breaking into the music scene in the early 2000s, he carved a niche for himself with his unique blend of Hiplife, Highlife, and Afrobeats influences.

His ability to craft catchy hooks and relatable lyrics quickly made him a household name, particularly among the youth. Songs like “Toffee,” “Adonai,” and “Odo Pa” became street anthems and dominated airwaves across Ghana.

One of the defining moments of his career was his collaboration with Sarkodie on the hit song “Adonai.” The track not only topped charts but also became one of the most iconic Ghanaian songs of its time, further cementing Castro’s reputation as a hitmaker.

His collaborations extended to several top acts, including Asamoah Gyan, showing his versatility and wide appeal across different audiences.

More than a decade later, Castro remains a symbol of unfinished greatness. His music still enjoys airplay, especially during Ghana Month, when the nation celebrates its rich artistic heritage.
