The Ghana Fashion Awards believes that fashion in Ghana is still developing and

growing at a fast rate but the people doing and promoting fashion in the industry

have not been duly celebrated in the mainstream. Therefore the awards want to

recognize and put a spotlight on fashion designers and key players in Ghana and

beyond; and by so doing people would consider fashion as a rewarding career option.



Ghana Fashion Awards 2012 promises Ghanaians to expect nothing but the best from

fashion designers and players (local and international) in the Ghanaian industry –

creativity, style and glamour. The introductory event in 2011 saw the handing out of

6 awards including the following:

Designer of the year – Christie Brown

Emerging Designer of year – Duaba Serwa

Accessories Designer Of The Year- Inka Accessories

Contribution To Photography – Steven Adusei

Model Of The Year – Grace Sarfo

Best Casual Wear Designer (T-Shirt Category) – Monarki



The 2012 Ghana Fashion Awards will see a review of some of these

categories as well as the introduction of new categories such as Most

Stylish Celebrity among others. The date for the main event will be announced
