Free ‘Couples' Premiere For “Hot Fork”

The first ever free ‘Couples’ movie premiere, will hit Accra on Saturday May 15, 2010 for the new Movie Africa production “Hot Fork”.

The premiere will take place at the Executive Theatre at TV3, Kanda, Accra and the only pass for entry is to come along with your partner. Socrate Sarfo, producer of the movie, disclosed this to peacefmonline during an interview over the weekend. Socrate who is now premiering his movie in Ghana said:

“A lot of people have said a lot of things about this movie and the title since the trailer came out, so I want to give matured people the opportunity to see this movie and tell me what they think”, he stressed. He said his target for this movie is men and women in a relationship. It does not matter if you are married or not as far as you have a partner.

Asked why he decided not, to charge gate fees at the premiere, he said movie premieres in most parts of the world are not supposed to be paying events. Socrate stressed that he wants to encourage Ghanaians to attend movie premieres and to give the masses an opportunity to watch the movie for the first time.

“I want as many people as possible to see this movie and learn from it. I really wish I could premiere it at the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium but I don’t have money to pay for the venue”, he emphasized.

“Hot Fork” which created a problem at the Preview and Classification Board when it was sent for screening, has finally been approved and classified as 18+.

Though some of the board members said there were too many graphic sexual scenes and insisted that the title of the movie should be changed because it is too suggestive, the majority thought there was nothing wrong with it but that it only has to be rated 18 and above. There will be two showings: the first at 6:30pm and the second showing at 8:30pm. All stars featured in the movie will be present for autographs, photographs and interviews.

The movie features Ekow Freeman, popular Nigerian Actor Sam Uche Anyamele of “Super Story” fame, Vivian Achor, Marian Addo, Phil Ayisi, Baby Blench, Duke Felix (Paada) and other star actors.

Producer of “Hot Fork” Socrate Safo is known for his controversial movie titles such as: “God is Wicked”, “Jezebel”, “Satan’s Wife” “Mallam Issa kawa”, “Last Virgin”, “Love and Sex” and “Sexy Angel”, among others. The movie will be released on Monday May 17,2010.
