Florence Obinim Declares Fireworks At Adom Praiz

Ghana’s gospel queen, Florence Obinim has declared she is yet to give off her best at a public function on Saturday at the Dome, Accra International Conference Centre when a Tema-based private radio station, Adom FM hosts America’s multi-award winning gospel diva, Cece Winans.
Speaking on ‘Working And Happiness’, the mid-morning programme on Adom FM with Jerry Justice, Florence revealed that she was glad when her name was added to the tall list of some favourite Ghanaian gospel artistes to perform alongside Cece Winans, and has therefore promised to cause a massive stir with a scintillating performance on the night.
‘Patrons of last year’s Adom Praiz can testify that I was about 8 months pregnant but I was still able to shake the foundations of the National Theatre where the programme was held’, she recalled. ‘But I tell you, it will be fireworks this year, God willing’, she declared.
Florence Obinim started singing when she was about 11 years at the Assemblies of God Church in Kumasi where she grew up and had been singing until she tied the nuptial knot with her husband about a year and a half ago.
Her parents, Akosua Serwaa and Nana Kwabena, the chief of Sreso in Kumasi have been and still are supportive and she hopes to stay in the music ministry as long as God permits.
Her debut album was a massive favourite with many Ghanaians and had many children singing along.
She was inspired to write her hit song, Osoro Ne Me Fie (Heaven Is My Home) after her husband, Rev. Daniel Obinim, preached on the title. The rhythm of the song was borrowed from a popular song by a South African female gospel musician, Rebecca Malope.
Her popular songs include Wagye Me, Oben Me, Mehia W'adom, Me Dimafo, Mahunu Bi Da, Ma Me Nyansa and the recent chart-topping ‘Okyeso Nyame’ , among others.
Florence Obinim met her husband who happens to be the General Overseer of International God's Way Church where she fellowships as a gospel singer. She was wedded on April 24, 2004.
Their happy union is blessed with two handsome boys, Gifted Obinim Junior, Promise Obinim and a girl, Angel Obinim.
Adom Praiz 2010 is scheduled to be the flagship programme for the Tenth Anniversary of Adom FM and is expected to feature America’s female gospel super star, Cece Winans alongside several other Ghanaian gospel musicians such as Ernest Opoku, Kweku Gyasi, Cecilia Marfo, Bernice Offei, Soul Winners, No Tribe, Willie & Mike, Alabaster Box, Tagoe Sisters, Daughters of Glorious Jesus, among others.
