A film and arts non-governmental organization, Art To Save Foundation, has provided career-mentoring sessions for some students in the Cape Coast municipality.

In the one-day career orientation programme held at the Cape Coast International School to empower Visual Arts students and help them discover career opportunities in their field of study, students were taken through basic lessons in Cinematography and Graphic Design.

The interaction was aimed at equipping students with the right information to venture into allied fields within the arts industry.

Speaking at the orientation and training programme, Movie Director & Filmmaker Mawuli Mortsi urged students to make deliberate efforts to establish themselves in careers that will contribute to the nation’s development and make them role models for the next generation.

The Amakye & Dede hitmaker, who also doubles as a leader of the group, revealed to students of Visual Arts the opportunities that exist for them in the industry – movie directing, illustrating, photography, animation, graphic design, arts administration, printmaking etc. while stressing the need to discard the long-held notion that Visual Arts is a less inferior course.

Also at the programme was Kelly Doe, the Director of Photography for Keteke Movie among other award-winning movies, together with Mr. Mawuli Agbenorku, the User Interface artwork designer for popular Oware 3D game that won the first MTN app challenge.

Students were also offered internship opportunities in filming and photography with Art To Save Foundation for vacations.
