Film Industry heading to a ditch – Actor Wayoosi

Kumasi based Actor Joseph Nana Osei Kofi popularly known as Wayoosi has disclosed that the film industry is gradually heading to a ditch.

According to Wayoosi, the industry is losing its values as it used to be years back.

The 40-year-old veteran actor who is disappointed that old actors have been sidelined told SeanCitygh.com that the film industry will collapse if care is not taken.

“Almost all the old actors and actresses have been sidelined by our producers. They haven’t been on set for a long while’’.

“Veteran actors are still being used worldwide and so why can’t it be same down here. Why do they rather want to use make-up and powder to portray young ones into elderly roles? He asked

According to Wayoosi that approach by the directors and producers is a bad job of it and must be stop. ‘’ why don’t we make our movies natural by using those who are naturally old? This just beats my imagination”. He added

In an interview with SeanCitygh.com he refuted the claims that old actors are expensive and not marketable.

“From my own investigation, I don’t think that is true because there are a few films that have featured some of our old colleagues and they have done well on the market so those claims are misconstrue ‘’

The actor cum musician also lamented that , the unfortunate situation where very little or nothing is being done for ageing artistes who are not given roles to play but get younger men and women to play the roles of old men and women after being turned old through make ups must stop’’.

“I think the film makers should reconsider their decision not to use the old actors. ‘’
