Fella Makafui didn’t force anyone to buy her slimming tea products - Xandy Kamel shreds critics

Ghanaian socialite, Xandy Kamel, has defended actress Fella Makafui against recent criticism over the body enhancement products she markets.

She asserted that customers buy these products voluntarily, without any coercion from the actress, therefore, the negative commentary should end.

Xandy cautioned those disparaging Fella's character to cease and refrain from buying such products if they disapprove.

"Those ridiculing Fella should be cautious; she didn't compel anyone to purchase her slimming tea products, so be restrained in your criticism," Xandy said in Twi during an Instagram live session.

She also recalled the backlash she faced on social media for criticizing slimming teas due to their health side effects.

"I recall being berated for discussing the flat tummy issue. Some suggested I did so because of my own large stomach. After I tried the tea and declared it ineffective, I was insulted, and even my family was dragged into it.

"Now the truth is out. I warned that the slimming tea could cause kidney issues and other adverse effects, but no one listened. I was accused of harbouring animosity towards those selling the products," Xandy shared.

This follows Fella's reported release after her detention for selling unregistered drugs from her Mempeasem store.

Investigative journalist Akwasi Koranteng, affiliated with ISPYGH 247 and the Pharmacy Council Ghana, reported on Fella Makafui's May 22, 2024, arrest.

The said arrest came after a six-month surveillance of Fella's social media activities on platforms like TikTok and Instagram.

Confiscated items included fertility teas, enlargement syrups and oils, detox pearls, and sexual vitality teas, among others, allegedly marketed without FDA approval.

Fella's management, however, has denied the arrest claims, stating on May 23, 2024, that she was merely summoned for questioning.
