Father charged for having sex with daughter

Aflao (V/R), Oct. 28, GNA- A 45-year-old farmer, Godson Kwaku Kemawu of Afife in the Ketu District was last Monday jailed five years by the Aflao Circuit court for having carnal knowledge of his 14-year old daughter.

Kemawu pleaded guilty.

The prosecution said the victim had been living with her aunt at Keta after the marriage between Kemawu and the victim's mother had dissolved.

Sometime in December last year, Kemawu took custody of the victim and was sharing the same bed with her during which he had sex with her on many occasions.

The prosecution said the victim who reported her father to the mother when she visited the daughter, told the Police that her father had had sex with her on five occasions with the last one happening on October 6, this year.

Besides that, the victim said no other man had known her apart from her father.

The prosecution said a medical report confirmed that the victim had a ruptured hymen.
