Farmer bites off colleague's ear

Goaso (B/A), May 22, GNA - A circuit court at Goaso has ordered a 35-year-old farmer, Alhassan Kramo, to pay one million cedis compensation to one Kwame Gyamfi whose ear he bit-off during a fight. The court presided by Mr Charles Quampah, ordered Kramo to serve six months in jail if he failed to pay the compensation. He pleaded guilty to the charge.

Presenting the facts of the case, Police Chief Inspector Ben Brew, said both Gyamfi and the accused were farmers resident at Berekum, a village near Kasapin in the Asunafo North District. He said at about 7.30 hours on May 10 this year, Gyamfi and Kramo met at a chop bar to take breakfast.

Whilst waiting to be served, a misunderstanding broke out between them and later turned into a fight during, which Kramo bit off Gyamfi's ear.
