Fake celebrity Facebook accounts wahala; Nadia has no Facebook account

In recent times, news of some major players in the Ghanaian Showbiz industry coming out on various media platforms to clear issues of them having fan pages on the popular social media network, Facebook, has gone viral.

The current fake Facebook account misrepresentation is actress-cum-business mogul, Nadia Buari, whose name was also used to create a Facebook account soliciting over 800, 000 fans and followers on Facebook across the globe.

According to The Trace, a fan identified as Osarodion Andrew is not only running the fake Nadia Buari account, but soliciting for funds from her fans and followers across the globe who find interest in the works of the actress.

“Our outreach to the camp of Team Nadia indicate the actress is only active as @iamnadiabuari on Instagram and @B5sNadiaBuari on twitter and has NO official facebook account,” The Trace stated in a release.

Showbiz personalities including Akrobeto, Asamoah Gyan, Joselyn Dumas, the alleged fake John Dumelo verified account; not forgetting Jackie Appiah and Yvonne Nelson- whose fake Facebook accounts were verified barely a month ago have raised concerns on how they are adversely being affected.

The disturbing trend of how some die-hard fans go the extra mile to create accounts of their favorite celebrities on social media and further create the impression that they are indeed these celebrities by updating the pages with exact happenings in the day to day life of these celebrities, according to some, is affecting the credibility of their brands.

This according sources, is what forced Ghanaian actor, Akrobeto, to denounce any account on Facebook linked to him during an interview on PLUZZ 89.9 FM in Accra some few weeks ago.

Meanwhile, the real owners of these doubtful accounts seem to be enjoying the benefits have decided to keep mute whiles these celebrities suffer from the misrepresentation of their brands at the mercy of some of these hidden admires activities.
