FLASHBACK: When KABA prepared 'Ampesi with Kontomire' stew on Asanka Delight

The nation was hit with a very sad news almost a week ago when the death of Asempa FM “Ekosii Sen” presenter Kwadwo Asare Baffour Acheampong (KABA) was reported.

As the whole nation mourns with the family over this tragedy, Ghanaweb goes into our archives to bring you some of the fun things he did when he was alive.

About two years ago, the late broadcaster was a guest on the popular cooking show on TV3, “Asanka Delight” to exhibit his cooking skills.

KABA chose to prepare a local dish - yam and plantain “Ampesi with Kontomire Abomu”, as he called it.

Hosted by Jackie Ankrah, the two went through the ingredients needed for his chosen meal which included yam, plantain, kontomire, koobi, pepper, onions, garlic, oil, eggs etc, whiles discussing his childhood, his education and what brought him to the capital city.

He disclosed that he was a trained teacher before he decided to divert to the radio.

As the master chef of the day, KABA took Jackie and her viewers' step by step through preparing the very local delicious meal.

KABA died in the early hours of Saturday, November 18, 2017, at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.

A memorial service was held at the premises of Multimedia at Kokomlemle Monday in honour of him.

He left behind a wife and a daughter.
